William "Lindy" Eakin, Chairperson

Lindy Eakin is Vice Provost for Administration and Finance at the University of Kansas, Lawrence campus. After earning his MBA at KU in 1979, he began his career as a Budget Officer for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. In 1989, he became the Budget Director for the campus and then in 1991 moved into the position that has evolved into his current set of responsibilities. In addition to his administrative work, Eakin earned a Ph.D. in Native American history in 1997 and has been teaching in the KU History Department since then. He has served on the Friends of the Lied Board and the Board of the Lawrence Regional Technology Center and is currently a board member of Kaw, Inc., a Lawrence technology transfer incubator.  He has been a member of the LMH Board of Trustees since September 1999 and held the office of treasurer for the past three years.  Eakin currently chairs the Planning and Governance Committees for the LMH Board of Trustees and serves on the Finance and Medical Staff Committees.
