Chest Pain Center with PCI (Angioplasty)
Accredited by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care
Chest pain is scary, and it can be a sign of something serious. Go to the Emergency Department at Lawrence Memorial Hospital if you have chest pain. At LMH, you'll receive immediate and comprehensive care from the area’s most experienced cardiac experts.
The Chest Pain Center at LMH provides a 24-hour team of cardiologists, nurses and support specialists who safely and efficiently implement emergency cardiac care. Our experts are trained in protocol recommended by the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
The Chest Pain Center at LMH is nationally accredited by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (formerly known as the Society for Chest Pain Centers). This elite mark of excellence, only achieved by select hospitals in the United States, means the Heart Center at LMH meets or exceeds national quality-of-care standards.
LMH ranks in the top five percent nationally for treating patients who are suffering heart attacks, according to the American College of Cardiology. We are also certified as a Chest Pain Center with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI, also known as angioplasty). Our door-to-balloon times - how much time passes from when you walk into the emergency room to when you undergo a balloon angioplasty to unblock the artery - are well below the national benchmark of 90 minutes.
