LMH Meds 2 Beds Program:

A Bedside Medication Delivery Service

LMH Health System Pharmacy offers a great service to patients going home from the hospital.  Patients can have discharge prescriptions filled at our pharmacy and they can be delivered directly to the room prior to discharge. Our goal is to continually improve patient care and satisfaction.

We are dedicated to your care by ensuring you have your new medications at discharge and understand the changes to your medication.  We strive to improve your transition from the hospital to home by communicating medication information to your local pharmacist and primary care provider. This service is optional, but we would be honored to fulfill your pharmacy needs while at LMH.

Benefits of using Meds to Beds:

  • Your prescriptions are conveniently delivered directly to you.
  • You can avoid an additional stop at the pharmacy on your way home.
  • A pharmacist or pharmacy intern will meet with you personally to provide one-on-one discharge medication education and answer your medication questions to your satisfaction.
  • We will transfer remaining refills to your pharmacy of choice and communicate medication changes with your pharmacist.
  • We will send your primary care provider an updated medication list.

Q:  Who is eligible for the Meds 2 Beds service? 

A:  Meds to Beds is available to patients going home from the hospital.

Q:  How do I sign up for the Meds 2 Beds service? 

A:  Inform an admissions, nursing, or pharmacy staff member that you are interested in this program.  Pharmacy personnel will come by to see you during your stay at LMH.

Q:  Will the cost of my prescription be added to my hospital bill? 

A:  No, we will bill your prescription insurance plan.  You will be responsible for any co-payment when your prescription is delivered.

Q:  How do you access my prescription insurance?

A:  We ask that you provide your prescription insurance card to the LMH admissions clerk.  If you do not have your card, pharmacy personnel will work with you to obtain the necessary information.

Q:  Can I use this service if I do not have prescription insurance?

A:  Absolutely!

Q:  How do I pay for my prescription? 

A:  You can pay for prescriptions with cash, check, or credit card when the medications are delivered directly to you.

Q:  Can I refill prescriptions at LMH Health System Pharmacy?

A:  No, we can only fill your first 30-day supply of medications.  We will transfer any refills to your pharmacy of choice.

Q:  Will the medication cost the same as it does at my regular pharmacy?

A:  Every pharmacy has variable pricing.  If your insurance plan has a set co-payment and is contracted with our pharmacy, the cost to you should be the same.  We would be happy to give you a quote on your medication cost before filling the prescriptions.

Q:  Is there a charge for delivery of my medication directly to me?

A:  No, there is no additional fee for delivery.
