Labor and Delivery

As your time for delivery nears, you begin to anticipate the birth of your baby. Activities such as attending childbirth classes, visiting your physician or midwife regularly, reading books, talking to others and packing your suitcase in advance will help you prepare for the birth of your baby. Learning as much as possible about the signs of labor, the stages of labor and what to expect when you arrive at the Family Birthing Center will also help ease anxiety.

Worrying over whether or not you are in real labor is a fact of life at the end of pregnancy. If you start to experience what you believe may be signs and symptoms of labor, call your physician or midwife. If your provider advises you to come to the Family Birthing Center, he or she will let us know you are on your way. We'll be waiting for you!
