Classes and Programs
We support your "Journey through Parenthood” by offering educational classes and programs to help you navigate all stages of parenthood. From prenatal care and childbirth preparation to breastfeeding, postpartum fitness and parent support groups, we want to keep you and your family healthy for life. Find dates and fees for the prenatal and parenting classes listed below, along with information on other educational programs currently available at LMH.

Childbirth Prep for Expectant Parents
- Traditional Childbirth Preparation
A comprehensive course that includes five in-person sessions with a registered nurse trained in childbirth education.
- Online Childbirth Preparation
This web-based course includes interactive learning modules and an optional one-time, in-person class at LMH.
- Basic Childbirth Preparation
An accelerated weekend class that covers the basics of childbirth in two half-day sessions.
Fitness Programs for Expectant and New Moms
- Fit for 2
This eight-week fitness program, designed especially for expectant mothers, promotes fitness throughout the childbearing years.
- Fit for You
A postpartum exercise program that promotes health and wellness following childbirth in three one-on-one sessions with a personal fitness trainer.
Newborn Care Programs for New Moms and Dads
- Baby Care Workshop
This class is taught by a registered nurse and offers newborn care for parents, grandparents and any other baby care providers.
- Breastfeeding Your Baby
This class teaches new and expectant parents how to facilitate and enjoy a good breastfeeding experience. Fathers/partners are also encouraged to attend.
- Child Safety Seat Checks
A free service that provides car seat installation safety checks to help prevent childhood injuries.
Programs for Kids
- Tyke Hyke
This free program helps prepare 3-6 year-olds for the arrival of a new sibling.
Parenting Support Groups (enrollment not required)
- Breastfeeding & New Parent Support Group
A free program that includes discussions with other parents, certified breastfeeding educators and lactation specialists in a comfortable group setting. Enrollment is not required.
- “Build Your Village” Perinatal Adjustment Support Group
This support group is free and open to any mother experiencing difficulty with perinatal adjustments or suffering from postpartum mood changes, such as depression or anxiety. Enrollment is not required.
