Emergency Department Waiting Room Host

This is a volunteer opportunity where you can help to make people feel more comfortable. The volunteers in this area will have similar duties as those in surgery waiting, but are more mobile. This area may require the volunteer to assist people in wheelchairs. Our shifts available are: Tuesday evenings, Wednesday evenings, Thursday afternoons, Friday late afternoons or evenings, Saturdays late afternoon or evening, Sundays anytime.

The volunteers in this area provide individual attention to a patient who may be confused or just needing extra care. If you like working with people, have patience, compassion and excellent communication skills; please contact us regarding this area. Volunteers will be able to select a specific day of the week and hours available for volunteer assignment and call in to see if you are needed during those hours. We specifically have need for volunteers during the day on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Training will be provided.

We are no longer accepting college and highschool student volunteer applications for Spring semester 2010. Applications for summer volunteering for college students will be accepted in April. Junior High and High School applicants, please contact the Volunteer office at 505-3146 in April.
