Construction Projects
Phase Three (Winter 2007 - Spring 2009)
Phase 3 of the LMH expansion project is expected to begin in the winter of 2007 and continue to spring 2009. Once the emergency department moves to its new location, the old space will be renovated to house new surgical facilities. This will include approximately 21,000 square feet of additional space, bringing the total size of surgical services to 57,000 square feet. The new facility is designed with six functional operating suites and shell space for two more, providing an opportunity for future growth.
All Private-Room Environment
Following a national trend that is now an industry standard for new facilities, LMH will convert patient rooms from semi-private to private. While this change is designed with patient comfort and satisfaction in mind, it?s also a move toward reducing infection rates, medical errors and privacy issues. National studies show that patients sleep better, maintain better spirits and recover faster when they have private rooms. The rooms will include flat panel televisions, internet access and furniture that converts to accommodate a loved one staying overnight to support a patient.
