  • Admissions Charge Clerk - Admissions Department 7/11/2014

    Primary position responsibility will be to assist the Admitting Manager in meeting department goals. This position will function as a back up to the Admissions Manager. This is a supervisor position. 50-75% of the time working will be functioning in the capacity of an admitting clerk. The other time will be divided among supervisory duties and various department goals orientated projects as deemed necessary by the Admitting Manager. This position has the responsibility of rotate on-call with other charge clerks on the weekends.

Interview patients or representative to ensure that accurate patient information is collected, with an emphasis on insurance details. Educates all patients on appropriate hospital policies and procedures. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments in a timely matter.

This position will be responsible for supervising and covering rotating on-call personnel for 24/7 staffing. Schedules and assigns shifts and provides support for on-call staffing needs.

    Reporting to the CIC Coordinator, the Customer Information Specialist functions as a vital communications link between the hospital and its customers.

    Responsible for providing proactive leadership to the hospital revenue cycle in the areas of preregistration; insurance eligibility, patient responsibility estimation; inpatient, outpatient and emergency room registrations; patient billing; insurance follow up; customer service and patient financial counseling; monitoring the charity policy; cashiering; mailroom, and results reporting.
