Data Quality Coordinator II

Health Information Management


Responsible for accurate coding and abstracting of data for all inpatient and observation diagnosis and conditions, working from the appropriate documentation in the medical record and entering the information into the hospital computer system. Ability to work remotely from home! 


Department:  Health Information Management Services (HIMS)

Location: Lawrence, Kansas

Job Type:  Full-Time

Agreed Hours Per Pay Period: 80

Schedule/Shift: 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management
  • RHIA, RHIT, CCS current credentials, or in process required
  • Maintain current registration and continued education for Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
  • Requires at least 3 years of previous experience in a health information department with strong inpatient coding experience
  • Knowledge of coding systems and DRG methodology preferred
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 is a must
  • Good interpersonal communication skills, strong attention to detail, ability to multitask.
  • Exceptional customer service skills required

  • constant use of manual dexterity
  • sit, stand, walk and reach frequently
  • lift/carry and push/pull 18 lbs frequently
  • climb, stoop, bend, squat, kneel occasionally
  • lift/carry and push/pull 35 lbs occasionally
