LMH Names Joseph Pedley Chief Financial Officer

Lawrence Memorial Hospital has named Joseph Pedley, CPA as the Chief Financial Officer. Pedley succeeds Simon Scholtz, who served as the hospital’s CFO since 1999.

“Joe brings significant experience in health care finance to LMH. We will benefit from his varied background and accomplishments,” said Gene Meyer, President and CEO. "We are sad to lose Simon Scholtz but very pleased that Joe will be joining LMH.”

Along with executive responsibilities, Pedley will oversee all financial operations at the hospital including Patient Accounts, Accounting, Materials Management, and Managed Care Contracting.

Pedley has 20 years experience in healthcare financial management, having worked for Catholic Health Initiatives, a non-profit health system with more than 70 hospitals in 22 states. Most recently, he served as the Chief Financial Officer at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, Colorado.

Pedley graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Accounting. He was one of less than ten percent to pass all parts of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination on his first attempt.

“I am very excited to be part of an organization that carries the caliber of LMH and the community of Lawrence,” said Pedley.
