Oncology Pharmacist

Graduating with her doctorate degree from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Kansas in 1992, Dr. Finkbiner went to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where she completed a one-year residency in pharmacy practice, followed by a year of residency in oncology pharmacy. She has since held positions as a pharmacy specialist in oncology in Florida and Kansas.

She joined The Oncology Center at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in 2001. As an oncology pharmacist, Dr. Finkbiner provides a unique service to The Oncology Center not typically offered at all other oncology facilities. She is able to discuss treatment programs directly with patients and helps the oncology physicians develop the best treatment program for each patient. This direct contact with patients helps them understand the benefits and side effects of the medications that have been prescribed for their individual treatment programs.

With the ongoing research of cancer treatment programs and the development of new medications, Dr. Finkbiner enjoys the challenge of oncology pharmacy. She is a key asset to The Oncology Center team.
