Breast cancer strikes one in eight women. One of the goals of the LMH Breast Center is to find breast cancer at the earliest stage possible. This is key to survival. When found early, the survival rate at five years is 96 percent.
In the event that breast cancer is diagnosed, the LMH Breast Center is designed to coordinate patient care and information between board-certified radiologists, surgeons, plastic surgeons, oncologists, pathologists and primary-care physicians in the community. The team pays great attention to the clinical care and emotional needs of the patients throughout diagnosis and treatment. At weekly tumor conferences a multidisciplinary team meets to discuss new cases. This gives the group the opportunity to share and build a plan for treatment and care of the patient.
Our team of medical professionals has a passion for finding breast cancer, as well as helping newly-diagnosed patients develop and undergo a treatment regimen specific to their clinical and emotional needs. The LMH Breast Center is accredited through the American College of Radiology.
