Independence Day Program

Independence Day is a program that allows patients to demonstrate and practice skills learned in treatment during their inpatient rehab stay. Independence Day is generally planned for the day before discharge so that the patient will have a full day to be responsible for the assigned activities. Independence Day activities may include several levels of activities, including self care, mobility, functional, medication, and discharge. Focus will be paid to those areas that are most pertinent to that patient's home activities and environment. Activities that the patient is not able to complete independently or safely are aggressively addressed through additional treatment and/or education.
