An ambulatory 24 hr pH monitor records the amount and severity of your stomach acids. A small catheter attached to a Digitrapper, a recording device. This device is left in place for the duration of the test and records the acid levels at various times throughout the study period.
An esophageal manometry test involves placing a small manometry catheter/probe into your stomach and then taking measurements at specific locations as it is withdrawn.
The information obtained from both of these tests are then studied by a physician.
