The steps to becoming a volunteer are:
Complete a volunteer application and indicate which opportunities interest you. LMH is proud to offer an excellent volunteer experience and seeks only highly motivated and committed volunteers. Because of this, we are unable to interview and accept every applicant to volunteer. We will review your application and will contact you for an interview as we have an appropriate space that matches your skills, interests and availability.
After we schedule your interview we will talk about your interest, time availability and the volunteer needs in the hospital. We will work to find a good match for both of us.
If you are accepted as a volunteer, we will require you to attend an orientation and to provide us with a letter of reference. Reference letters may be turned in during the interview or at orientation.
Orientation lasts two hours, and you can pick up an orientation schedule and an orientation outline at the time of your interview. During orientation, you will find out more about our organization and what you can expect as a volunteer. All volunteers are required to get a TB skin test, which is provided for free.
Once you have completed all of the above steps, you will be able to begin volunteering. The average volunteer works three hours once a week and we ask for a minimum of a three-month commitment.
LMH has various opportunities matching your skills. Visit us to learn more about LMH, meet new people and get involved in the community you love. We hope to see you soon!
