Questions & Answers About IQHealth @ Lawrence Memorial Hospital

How does IQHealth work?
IQHealth @ Lawrence Memorial Hospital lets you compile your own electronic personal health record, access health information and send messages through an exclusive, high-security system called Private Communications. It’s one of the toughest systems in Internet security – even safer than those used in online banking transactions or Internet purchases. Because healthcare data is so sensitive, IQHealth @ Lawrence Memorial Hospital’s Private Communications system has multiple levels of security.

How do I get connected to IQHealth @ Lawrence Memorial Hospital?
If you’re already connected to the Internet, simply go to www.lmh.org and click on the IQHealth Registration link. Some of the services are available as soon as you register, like drug interaction checks and your Personal Health Record.

How do I send secure messages to my doctor?
For some IQHealth services, like secure messaging with physicians, you'll need to get a quick in-person validation to verify your identity. This is for your security and privacy. After you register on-line, validation can occur at your physician's office or at the Customer Information Center in the east lobby (Maine Street entrance) of Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Adults will need to present a photo ID and one additional form of identification such as a Social Security card, birth certificate or recent utility bill, such as a Sunflower Broadband bill. For minor children, you'll need a Social Security card, school or photo ID, or birth certificate. Please note that not all physicians participate in this service. You can still access all the other IQHealth Services if your doctor does not participate, and you do not need to complete the validation process.

How secure is the privacy of my information on IQHealth @ Lawrence Memorial Hospital?
Security meets or exceeds stringent standards set by the federal government for Internet transactions. IQHealth @ Lawrence Memorial Hospital’s Private Communications are protected by encrypted messaging and a unique personal digital certificate (PDC), one of the toughest forms of Internet security. Only computers that have your PDC file can complete your log on procedure. These multiple levels of security make your online medical information even more secure than online banking transactions or Internet purchases.

Who can access my information?
Only you and other participants you designate can see your Personal Health Record. For instance, you may choose to authorize your personal doctor to see your Personal Health Record, but not your spouse. Your employer and insurance company will not see your record.

What happens to the data?
Individual data stored in the database is private. No one can see your personal information unless you choose to authorize access. We also take stringent measures to make sure no one outside of our system can physically or electronically break into our Data Center. The center has digital firewalls to block access to non-members trying to dial into our database. And our systems are backed up daily to protect the data.

Will I get any junk mail by participating?
No. You will only receive information relevant to your own health. When you complete the Health Assessment, you will receive feedback in the U.S. Mail. On occasion, you may receive a brief questionnaire that helps measure the impact of IQHealth @ Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Individual responses are confidential and you are not obligated to respond. Only combined data from all the responses is reported.
