Student-athletes can count on Jamie Blackim to be there when they need her most. As an athletic trainer at Lawrence High School, Jamie works to quickly triage an athlete’s injury and communicate with their families.
“I love the relationships I’ve built with the athletes, coaches and administration,” she said. “Lawrence High has a great sense of community and I enjoy coming to work here every day.”
Jamie is a graduate of Washburn University, holding a bachelor’s degree in athletic training. She went on to earn a master’s degree in health, physical education, and recreation from Emporia State University.
Jamie not only works with athletes at Lawrence High and at other area high schools when needed, as well as with athletes from Sporting Kaw Valley, a pre-professional soccer team practicing in Kansas City that plays matches in Lawrence and Topeka. She’s happy to be their link to LMH Health.
“It means a lot to me to work in this community. When they need to schedule an appointment at LMH Health, it helps make the process smoother and helps them know that they have access to care when they need it.”
