Donor support makes so much possible for LMH Health.

Gifts make a difference in the health and well-being of our families, friends and neighbors throughout the LMH Health service area.

Last year, LMH Health Foundation transferred more than $9 million in philanthropic support to LMH Health – a record-shattering benefit to the communities served by your not-for-profit, safety-net hospital and its physician clinics.

“We are fortunate to be part of communities that value access to exceptional healthcare," said Rebecca Smith, LMH Health Foundation executive director and LMH Health vice president of strategy and communications. “From investing in facilities and technology typically only seen in major medical centers to ensuring those advancements are available to every single member of our service area - regardless of ability to pay, donors make a real and tremendous impact. We are incredibly grateful for this support and all it makes possible.”

Gifts to the Foundation ensured:

  • Patients with Parkinson’s disease can attend exercise class, regardless of ability to pay. Research shows exercise can ease and slow the progress of Parkinson’s, which affects the part of the brain involved with movement.
  • More than 135 uninsured or under-insured patients received mammogram vouchers. Detecting breast cancer in its early phases – when it is most treatable – leads to better patient outcomes.
  • Access to a permanent PET/CT scanner. Donors provided more than $1.25 million to this initiative, making LMH Health the only hospital in the area that provides PET/CT imaging for both heart and cancer care. . More than 1027 patients have used this service since it was introduced last year.
  • Expansion and renovations for the LMH Health Cancer Center. More than $7 million in philanthropic support from community members and foundations will transform the space into an environment that truly reflects the quality of care delivered within this accredited center. A community-wide grand opening will be held for the public on June 21; register here to attend.

“Donors play a transformative role in healthcare, supporting our continued success as an independent community hospital,” said Russ Johnson, president and CEO of LMH Health. “These investments are part of what will allow us to deliver on our community promise well into the future.
