Early Detection: Your Most Powerful Defense
One in eight women will develop the disease at some point in her life, but when breast cancer is detected early enough, the five-year survival rate is nearly 100 percent. Family history may put some women at higher risk, but 85 percent of breast cancers occur in women with no family history of the disease.
