Do you accept my insurance plan?

How do I make an appointment at Lawrence OB-GYN Specialists?

For appointments and general information, call 785-505-4950. Our phone lines are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

How far in advance should I schedule my annual check-up?

Although it varies, routine appointments are usually booked approximately 1-3 months in advance. If you are an established patient, we will send a reminder when it's time to schedule your annual exam. In addition to OB-GYN physicians, our staff includes certified nurse midwives and certified women’s health care nurse practitioners to provide more options and minimize wait times.

I'm a new patient. How should I prepare for my first appointment?

The best way to come prepared for your first appointment is to complete our new patient forms in advance and bring them with you. New patient forms are available online in our Patient Resources section. We also recommend arriving 15-20 minutes early for your first visit so all your paperwork and insurance information can be processed before your scheduled appointment time. If you are coming in for a pelvic exam and/or pap test, please do not use any vaginal products or have sex for 24 hours prior to your visit.

How can I reach my OB-GYN provider after office hours?

We always have a provider on call for emergencies. If you need to reach your OB-GYN physician or certified nurse midwife after regular office hours, call our main office at 785-505-4950 and speak to our after-hours answering service. An operator will contact our on-call provider if the nature of your call is deemed urgent.

What if I don’t have insurance coverage – can I pay for my visit out of pocket?

If you have no insurance or your insurance doesn't cover our OB-GYN charges, please be prepared to pay on the day of service (unless prior financial arrangements have been made with our business office). For most OB-GYN services and procedures, we accept cash, personal checks, Visa and MasterCard. In addition to our physician charges, you may receive separate bills for the following:

  • Laboratory tests
  • Hospital or outpatient facility services
  • Anesthesia, if you receive general anesthesia or if it was necessary for an anesthesia provider to be available during a surgical procedure
  • Pathology, if tissue or specimens were removed during a surgical procedure

Choose the OB-GYN team that 9 out of 10 patients recommend.
