The hospital has changed but the care hasn't

The hospital has sure changed since I worked at LMH as a new RN way back in the early fifties. Then the new hospital was just a dream but was surely needed. The ER was a small room in the basement and your family doctor was called to come in to treat you!

I had my babies at LMH too - triplet girls followed by a son two years later. Back then a new isolette had just been donated to the nursery, and our three tiny premature babies were all placed in it! Dr. Gillis was there for their birth. She was a great pediatrician. And what good care we always received at LMH as a patient. I would advertise to anyone what a great hospital we have here in Lawrence.
