LMH Health Implementing Precautions for Influenza-Like Illnesses

Due to an increase in influenza-like illnesses, LMH Health is implementing precautions in the hospital to keep our patients, staff, volunteers and visitors healthy. We request that all visitors wear a mask if they are on an inpatient unit. Children are discouraged from visiting patients on inpatient units. If they do visit, we also request that they wear a mask. Children’s sized masks will be made available at the nursing stations.

As in past years, we are taking this action proactively to protect our patients, many of whom are immunocompromised, as well as our staff, volunteers and visitors to the hospital. We felt it was appropriate to do so again.

The best way to prevent the spread of influenza-like illness is to get a flu shot, but good hygiene habits such as handwashing and covering your cough can help prevent the spread of germs and prevent illness. If you are sick, stay home and do not expose patients, visitors, volunteers and staff to illness.
