Vickie Friel, Registered Nurse

Vickie started in 1977 as a PRN staff nurse. She spent her early years in the ER, psych, medical, surgery and OB. She later became the head nurse of OB and the Director of Maternal Child Nursing. Before joining the Cardiovascular Specialists of Lawrence as a staff nurse, Vickie worked as an intensive care nurse.

Over the years she has witnessed departments change names, functions and locations. Vickie watched LMH Health change technology, materials, treatments and the growth of outpatient services.

“When I’m not at LMH Health, I enjoy travel, photography, skiing, biking, and my family. I ran my first marathon at the age of 60 and have visited five continents. You never know when you will make a difference in someone else’s life or they in yours. I have made many lifelong friends at LMH Health and for that I am grateful.”
