Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers & Systems (HCAHPS®)

Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers & Systems (HCAHPS) measures how patients feel about the care they received in participating hospitals. Survey results are endorsed by the National Quality Forum and reported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) on Hospital Compare. Because all participating hospitals use the same survey, you can compare patient satisfaction between hospitals nationwide.

At LMH, we use our HCAHPS survey results to evaluate and enhance the quality of your care.

The overall level of patient satisfaction or "patient experience" is formed by a combination of many factors:

  • Scheduling
  • Patient advocacy
  • Available treatment and medication information
  • Pain management
    Satisfaction with doctors and patient care staff
  • Teamwork among nurses, doctors and support staff
  • Hospital cleanliness and environment
