“Early in high school, I attempted to be an athlete. I had a ton of injuries and was prone to come to the doctor’s office a lot. I had a great experience with PAs and I’ve had an interest in medicine since that time.”
Drew Scheer earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Fort Hays State University. He went on to earn a Master of Physician Assistant degree from Wichita State University and now works with Dr. James Huston at OrthoKansas.
“Dr. Huston specializes in total hip and knee replacement,” he said. “You can make a profound impact on someone’s quality of life and you can really change their daily living through that surgery and helping them deal with things like arthritis and daily pain.”
Why should patients choose OrthoKansas?
“Patients should come to OrthoKansas because of the quality of care that you can receive here,” Drew said. “All of the physicians are fellowship-trained, are all very specialized. You can see anything from a hand specialist to one in total joint arthroplasty. You’ll receive excellent, comprehensive care.”
