Biography

Eeman Akhtar, MD, attended the University of Kansas and later received his medical degree from Frontier Medical College in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Dr. Akhtar completed his residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2019. He is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America. Dr. Akhtar enjoys spending time with his family, as well as traveling, trying new foods, playing tennis and listening to podcasts.

I am SO grateful for Dr. Ahktar's addition to this office. He is brilliant and I feel has helped me immensely. Decisions are collaborative and his demeanor is comfortable. his nurse has been invaluable in helping me navigate my way with a third party provider. they are an excellent team.

This was my first visit with this provider and due to unforeseen circumstances it was a Tele visit. It was not my best experience.

I have never been disappointed with my care providers at LMH Health. However on this particular appointment I don't know what to say. Not my typical appointment.

As a long time person with mental health concerns it is very difficult in Lawrence to find a good psychiatrist. Dr Ahktar is a very fine psychiatrist. he knows his meds, is a good listener and collaborator in making decisions. I'm so happy to be his patient.
