I think Dr Carey was having a bad day. He was aloof. When he asked me what thoughts were keeping me awake at night, he asked "what does that have to do with now?" I felt he was dismissive of my concerns. I felt like he was trying to impress me with his ease of medical terms. I didn't feel like he was open to explain more, but I got the drift. so I didn't push it. I felt rushed. Perhaps he has time constraints with each patient, but it would be helpful for me if he was upfront about it. I am purposeful in using my time as well. this appointment did not meet my expectations. I wanted collaboration, and he kept saying that's what I want, ie meds. well, I want to be better, but I didn't feel we were on the same page yesterday. I hope for a better interaction next time. I'll take responsibility as well as in writing this I realize that I could have made my expectations clearer.
