Behavioral Health Crisis Services

LMH Health has a dedicated space located in our Emergency Department to support individuals experiencing a mental health, substance use or suicide crisis. While it isn’t designed to be a therapeutic setting, there are times the Emergency Department may be the best option.

Our team can offer immediate help, provide referrals, and connect you with appropriate resources for ongoing mental health, substance use and suicide care.

You can also visit the Treatment and Recovery Center of Douglas County (TRC), 1000 W. Second Street, 24/7, 365 days a year for urgent mental health care for children and adults, and 24- and 72-hour mental health crisis stabilization services for adults.

If you need someone to talk to, call or text 988 or chat online at 988lifeline.org.

What To Expect During a Behavioral Crisis Visit in the Emergency Department

No behavioral health crisis is the same. Each visit to our Emergency Department is different too, so it’s difficult to say how long you will be here. You could be with us for a few hours or longer, depending on your situation.

Collaborative Care Model

LMH Health uses the Collaborative Care model to treat common mental health conditions in an integrated way for primary care patients. This team-based approach brings behavioral health support into your primary care visit, making care more personalized, coordinated and convenient.

Community Resources

We collaborate with the TRC and other community partners to help provide timely access to behavioral health services. Our team can help connect you to ongoing support based on your individual needs.
