Read more about our history
LMH Health has always been committed to providing high-quality, affordable care for the people of Douglas County and the surrounding communities. More than 100 years ago, LMH Health was founded on the commitment to provide access for all and that “no person shall be excluded on account of race, or physical, social or financial condition.” This stipulation by philanthropist Elizabeth Watkins, who gave the funds to support the creation of Lawrence Memorial Hospital in 1921, prevails to this day. LMH Health provides more than $40 million in charitable care and financial assistance to more than 20,000 patients in need each year. Your continued support of our non-profit, safety net hospital ensures that LMH Health will be here for generations to come.
Your gifts make a real difference for our families, friends, and neighbors. Through your generosity, LMH Health delivers exceptional, compassionate care close to home every day. Your support is at work every day at LMH Health, and it makes a remarkable difference to those who receive - and deliver - care, and is such a tremendous reflection of what happens at the intersection of a philanthropic community and outstanding healthcare. Thank you for all you make possible.
