Board of Trustees

The LMH Health Board of Trustees provides governance for Lawrence Memorial Hospital and its subsidiary organizations. In its fiduciary capacity, the Board establishes and approves strategic direction and policies of the organization. The Board approves acquisition or disposition of real assets, annual operating and capital budgets and is responsible for employment and evaluation of the CEO.

Trustees are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Lawrence City Commission. Appointments typically occur in September but may occur at different times if a term is vacated early. Trustees serve four-year terms and are usually reappointed for a second term, although this is not required. As reflected in their oath of office, Trustees individually, and as a governing body, have a duty of obedience, care and loyalty to LMH Health.
