A message to our donors
LMH Health was founded 100 years ago upon the commitment to provide access for all. In giving funds to create Lawrence Memorial Hospital in 1921, local philanthropist Elizabeth Watkins stipulated that "no person shall be excluded on account of race, or physical, social or financial condition."
That commitment prevails to this day. As the largest safety-net provider in the region, LMH Health provides millions of dollars in charitable care each year. We look to this as our purpose and north star. In 2021 and beyond, we will focus on advancing health equity and inclusion in our community.
Thanks to your support, we are addressing food scarcity and barriers to transportation through our Help and Healing Fund. Our Catch a Break Fund is helping cancer patients in need with utility bills and medication. And our community pantry, in partnership with Just Food and Van Go, Inc., is continually stocked with food and supplies for anyone who needs it.
We could not do this without you. Thank you for strengthening your nonprofit, community hospital, and for helping us elevate healthcare for all people in Douglas County.

A Partner for Lifelong Health
Join us as we build a destination for healthy living. LMH Health is committed to helping you and your family stay healthy for life. Our goals are the same as yours: healthy people, healthy communities and a healthy future for everyone.
Your gifts help fund investments in patient care, community education, charitable care, wellness and more, so that the care you and your loved ones need will always be available, when and where you need it.
As a community-owned, not-for-profit hospital, LMH Health serves the healthcare needs of the community regardless of an individual's ability to pay. LMH Health receives no tax support from the city of Lawrence or Douglas County and invests all contributions and excess revenues in services, equipment and facilities. Your gift makes a difference!
