About Lara Rivera, APRN, CNM, DNP
Lara Rivera joined Lawrence OB-GYN Specialists in March 2017. She earned a bachelor of science in nursing in 2003 from the University of Kansas. She also holds a master’s degree in nurse midwifery from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky, and a doctor of nursing practice degree from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. She previously worked as a labor and delivery nurse and as a certified nurse midwife in Topeka and Kansas City areas. She has served 20 years in the U.S. Army and Navy Reserves, and now is a midwife in the U.S. Navy Reserves. She also has taught in an undergraduate program at Washburn University School of Nursing in Topeka.
