This was my first appointment with Dr. Ingram. I switched to Dr. Ingram as my PCP at the recommendation of my husband, who has been seeing Dr. Ingram regularly over the last year to address more complicated health issues than our previous doctor proved able to handle. I have had my own various health issues over the last 10-15 years, and I have been looking for a doctor who will take a comprehensive look at my medical history and keep that in mind in my present and future care. I have found it difficult to find a doctor who is interested in considering and discussing anything but the one, singular issue that is the impetus for the appointment. But when a patient has other ongoing issues, those issues are inherently implicated, and my experience is that many doctors simply triage the present issue without considering it within the arc of the overarching health and medical history of the patient.Dr. Ingram is different. I have seen in my husband's own care, that Dr. Ingram always keeps "the big picture" in view. In my initial appointment with him, he methodically went through my health history, and he listened carefully to my concerns. I also appreciate that he arranged for me to meet with a pharmacist to find the right medication; he works with the pharmacist to find the best pharmacological treatment that is covered by insurance. In the past, I have had a doctor write a prescription, but then insurance wouldn't cover it, which would prompt an unending game of telephone tag with the provider's office, the pharmacy, and the insurance company. I sincerely appreciate his more pragmatic approach to finding the right medication.
