As a native of Lawrence, Dr. James Huston knows the pride that the community has in supporting local businesses and each other. Dr. Huston graduated from Lawrence High and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in human biology from the University of Kansas and his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
Dr. Huston believes that orthopedics is a field where he can make an immediate and profound impact on a patient’s quality of life. He enjoys being able to see the improvement in people’s daily lives.

A people person. Listened to what I had to say. Explained everything very well on the upcoming surgery. I was very well pleased with my visit.

I think I could have done a better job of providing more history behind my medical issue, so that the doctor had a more thorough understanding of my condition. It was the first time I visited Dr Huston. I know there is usually a standard procedure for doing things, and I get that, but sometimes it feels like a cookie cutter approach.
Was a good experience. I came here for a second opinion regarding knee cap surgery. They listened to my concerns, thoroughly examined my leg and knee, did x-rays and explained to me the probable cause of my ongoing knee pain since knee replacement surgery. They explained to me that knee cap surgery was not necessary and prescribed a pain medication.
