About Neal D. Lintecum, MD

“My advice to patients is to think through the problem before you see your doctor so you have specific things to share,” he said. “The more clues you have for us, the easier it’s going to be for us to solve the puzzle.”
Dr. Neal Lintecum is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with special interests in hand surgery. He enjoys hand surgery because it has the widest variety of problems and being a hand surgeon allows him to care for patients of all ages.
After graduating from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Dr. Lintecum completed fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of California San Francisco General Hospital in San Francisco and Lindenhofspital/Inselspital in Bern Switzerland. He has a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Surgery of the Hand, the highest qualification available.
Why should patients choose OrthoKansas?
“People should come to OrthoKansas because we have an excellent team, top to bottom. It starts with the people that greet you at the front desk right through every person that you interact with here,” he said. “People come here because they have a problem and everyone is compassionate and understanding. I hope we continue to meet that standard.”

In a literal sense, it’s conservative – I think most people don’t come in wanting surgery so if we can solve your problem without surgery, we’ll try that first. I’m also collaborative. I want the patient to feel that they have input on and the final say on what we’re doing for their problem. At OrthoKansas, you are supported by a team of highly trained experts throughout your treatment and recovery. Learn more about Dr. Lintecum's team. (pdf)

Patient Reviews

He's kind of compassionate, prompt and professional. An excellent provider.

Everyone was very helpful answered all questions without making me feel like I was a bother

Dr. Read the X-rays and examined my arm. He listened to my concerns. He referred me to a specialist to examine my shoulder and staff accompanied me to be sure I have an appointment in the near future.

Professional and friendly

I see the provider only when I have problems with my hands

I felt like the provider was distant. The experience was cold and impersonal. Almost robotic, like he was going through the motions.

Friendly explanation well

Dr Lintecum was a second opinion on my fractured wrist, and he conducted a much more thorough examination than my previous providers.

Very satisfied

Courteous, informative, friendly
