Interventional Cardiology
Interventional cardiology offers advanced, non-surgical treatments for heart problems. We use a thin tube called a catheter to diagnose and treat conditions without large cuts. Helping you recover quickly and comfortably.
Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization Lab
We do tests in our lab to provide clear information and help guide your treatment. These tests measure the pressure and blood flow in your heart and arteries. Doctors may also use intravascular ultrasound for a safer procedure with less radiation.
Our lab is open 24/7, with skilled doctors, nurses, and technologists ready to help you anytime.
Conditions We Treat
The LMH Health Heart Center interventional cardiology team treats many heart conditions, such as:
- Arterial and blood vessel problems
- Cholesterol and lipid issues
- Heart function and circulation issues
- Heart valve and pressure
Minimally Invasive Heart Attack Care
If you have a heart attack, our cardiologists use a catheter to perform Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). This non-surgical treatment unblocks arteries and repairs damaged vessels. Offering a less invasive option than regular surgery.
Interventional Cardiology Procedures
Our compassionate team offers a variety of minimally invasive treatments for heart disease.</>
AngioJet
Uses high-speed, pulsating jets of saline to break up blood clots in the arteries. This helps to restore blood flow.
Atherectomy
Uses a laser or tiny drill to break up and remove plaque from arteries.
CardioMEMS Monitoring System
Places a small device in a lung artery to track blood pressure and send the data to your heart failure team.
Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) Revascularization
It opens up arteries that have been completely blocked for a long time, restoring blood flow to the heart.
Complex & High-Risk Coronary Intervention (CHIPS)
Treats challenging cases of blocked arteries.
Coronary Angioplasty & Stent Placement
It uses a balloon to widen a blocked artery and places a small mesh tube (stent) to keep it open.
Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
It takes over the work of the heart and lungs by oxygenating blood outside the body and return it to your body.
Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL)
Uses shock waves to break up hardened plaque in the arteries to improve blood flow.
Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS)
Impella® and other devices assist or replace the heart’s pumping function. Most often in people with severe heart failure.
